HERE ARE CUSTOMER QUOTES:

1st time at a place like this. Took my 12 and 14 year old and some adult friends. Everyone contributed and had lots of fun! Gonna go back and do the rest of the rooms at some point. -Dax Balzer

Exceptional experience! Fun hosts they are In character. Interactive, and a really fun group activity. Highly recommended! -Anthony Puhlman

We did the arcade room and it was so much fun! I will definitely be returning to do the other rooms  -Jessica Lawrence

Have been here twice. Tried the genie’s lamp the first time and the arcade room the second time. Genie’s lamp was more challenging and fun. Arcade room was simpler- probably because we were 10 people. Slots are usually available but do make a reservation before you go. -Vidushi Dwivedi

I really love Portland Escape Rooms! I have done Steampunk Airship, Sundown Saloon, and Arcade. They have great customer service and booking is easy. The escape rooms are very fun and creative. I love how many of the puzzles involve manipulating objects rather than basic math/lock combos. Out of three rooms there is only one puzzle that I thought could be improved, and all puzzles have worked correctly for my groups. The airship particularly was a great room with a great story and some of the coolest puzzles I've ever seen. It was a good challenge for my group of 4 experienced puzzlers. The arcade room was fun and on theme and I think it and saloon are both a good room for a beginner or intermediate group. -Liz O'Donnell

The Genie's Lamp was a fun escape room with just enough challenge to the puzzles to make things interesting! -Sam Stoelton

We did the Genie’s Lamp Escape Room at the Beaverton location. As escape room enthusiasts, we thought the difficultly level was just right for the two of us to speed through it and feel really good about our puzzle-solving abilities. It would probably be quite easy for a larger group of experienced escapees. Great for beginners! -Cristina Riani

We did the Genie’s Lamp room and it was super cool! We didn’t make it out but the process was so much fun!! 5/5 stars. I hope to return soon for another good time and to support a company that really values customer service. -Marliss Neal

The saloon escape room was amazing! We had so much fun! Presentation was excellent. The clues were just the right difficulty level -Aixa Lancaster

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Beaverton location of Portland Escape Rooms. Our hostess was fun and fabulous and tailored the experience perfectly for the five 11-year olds that attempted to escape from the Fortune Teller room. We came up short, but the kids couldn't stop chittering about how much fun they had and how they would do better the next time. -Dr. David Sharp

Four of us did the serial killer escape room. It was really fun and a good mix of creepy, jumpy, and fun. Would definitely come back and try the other rooms. -Haileigh G

Tips to Escape

Will you escape in time?

Tips to Escape

Will you escape in time?

Escaping the room requires solving a series of puzzles.  Some of the information or objects are hidden, some are in plain sight, some will be revealed later in the course of the event.  Here are some tips:

TIP 1:  Search carefully!

Some items are carefully hidden.  Look under and around for hidden objects or information.

TIP 2:  Use the items in the room.

Almost all of the items in the room have a purpose or use.  Think about what something will be used for and keep an eye out for the opportunity.

TIP 3:  Share your learning!

You need to collaborate/communicate with your team members.  Information or objects you find might be important to a puzzle someone else is working.  Successful teams are the ones that communicate most effectively.

TIP 4:  Don’t get stuck.

If you can’t figure out a puzzle, don’t spend too much time on it as there are other puzzles in the room to work on.  If you have trouble, recruit one of your teammates for help. Move on to another challenge and come back later as needed.

TIP 5:  Don’t give up!

Some of the puzzles are meant to be difficult.  Sometimes a solution is obvious, sometimes not.  Take a deep breath and try to think of different ways to approach the solution.  And more clues for your puzzle may be discovered or revealed later on.   Stay active. Keep searching. Keep trying.
