Our VOODOO CURSE room was recognized on a national review blog on a short list of IMMERSIVE THEATRE ESCAPE ROOMs.  Check out the article here:

Hard Mode: Making an Immersive Theatre Escape Room

We believe the Steampunk Airship room is even more immersive and will be on lists like this after reviewers get a chance to do the room (it opened June 2017).

"2 tourists coming from Southern California we had a great time last Sunday night in the Voodoo Room! We are seasoned vets when it comes to escape rooms and Portland Escape Rooms will definitely stand out in our memory. We were totally immersed with the theme and production quality was top notch. Puzzles were not just all combination locks and some were very unique.  Players are rewarded with a searching carefully and the room included  a good amount of Ah-hahs! Tips to Escape

Will you escape in time?

Tips to Escape

Will you escape in time?

Escaping the room requires solving a series of puzzles.  Some of the information or objects are hidden, some are in plain sight, some will be revealed later in the course of the event.  Here are some tips:

TIP 1:  Search carefully!

Some items are carefully hidden.  Look under and around for hidden objects or information.

TIP 2:  Use the items in the room.

Almost all of the items in the room have a purpose or use.  Think about what something will be used for and keep an eye out for the opportunity.

TIP 3:  Share your learning!

You need to collaborate/communicate with your team members.  Information or objects you find might be important to a puzzle someone else is working.  Successful teams are the ones that communicate most effectively.

TIP 4:  Don’t get stuck.

If you can’t figure out a puzzle, don’t spend too much time on it as there are other puzzles in the room to work on.  If you have trouble, recruit one of your teammates for help. Move on to another challenge and come back later as needed.

TIP 5:  Don’t give up!

Some of the puzzles are meant to be difficult.  Sometimes a solution is obvious, sometimes not.  Take a deep breath and try to think of different ways to approach the solution.  And more clues for your puzzle may be discovered or revealed later on.   Stay active. Keep searching. Keep trying.
